佛陀初转法轮日 & 尊胜直贡法王姜贡澈赞仁波切诞辰庆祝会

Ven. Dorzin Dhondrup Rinpoche will be leading a programme on 18 July 2026 to commemorate Buddha Shakyamuni's First Turning of the Wheel of Dharma. The event will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Singapore Time) in conjunction with H.H. Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche's Birthday Celebration.

Chokhor Duchen commemorates the anniversary of Shakyamuni Buddha's first teaching of the Dharma. After attaining enlightenment, the Buddha remained silent for seven weeks. On this auspicious day, Indra and Brahma offered a Dharmachakra (Wheel of Dharma) and a conch shell, requesting the Buddha to teach. Accepting their request, Buddha Shakyamuni turned the Wheel of Dharma for the first time at Sarnath, India, expounding the Four Noble Truths.

It is said that any virtuous action performed on Chokhor Duchen is multiplied 100 million times. Therefore, we warmly invite all Dharma friends to join this auspicious programme and accumulate vast merit together.
